Job summary

Mortgage Choice, an award-winning mortgage broker network based in Parramatta, is seeking a talented mortgage broker/loan writer to join our team. You will write loans for existing and new clients, ensuring seamless execution from interview through post-approval and settlement.

You will research and compare home loan options, explain terms clearly, hit settlement targets, and maintain accurate client records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in loan writing is a prerequisite.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong research skills to shortlist best home loan options.
• Ability to listen, engage and articulate problem solve with clients and lenders.
• Experience in Pay and Self-employed scenarios across lenders in a client-facing role.
• Lead the loan writing process end-to-end from interview to post-approval.

• Strong organisation for client file record keeping.
• Collaborative and adaptable mindset to drive team success.
• Cert IV is mandatory; Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking is preferred.
• Some after-hours calls may be required.

Who we\'re looking for

Reporting to the Owner & Operations manager you will join a team of experienced and engaging Mortgage professionals, where you will be responsible for writing loans for existing and new clientsensuring seamless execution from start to finish and great outcomes for our clients.Previous experience in a similar (loan writing) role is a pre-requisite to be considered for this role.

You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in order to convey terms in a clear and concise manner

Strong research skills in order to shortlist the best home loan options for our clients

Exceptional ability to listen, engage, and articulate problem solve, policy and scenario matters effectively with clients and lenders

Strong experience in Loan writing in all areas includingPayandSelf- employed scenarios and policies across many lenders (in a client facing role)

Ability to lead the loan writing process end to end including interview, pre application, application and post approval. Inclusive of addressing exceptions, seeking solutions to lender inquiries or client scenarios.

Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, work autonomously and be able to work to deadline

Strong organisation and administration skills for Client file record keeping

A collaborative and adaptable mindset with a drive to contribute to our team’s success, helping drive forward our culture of continuous improvement

Currently hold Cert IV – mandatory. Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking desired.

Whilst there is no weekend work, we ask for flexibility should a customer seek an after-hours call

What we\'re doing

Working under the Mortgage Choice brand as our Loan Writer / Mortgage Broker, you will help us look after our new and existing customers throughout all phases of their home loan life cycle to find them the right home loan option. Preferably you will possess a strong sales acumen to convert leads and referrals to residential loan applications. During the home loan process, you will provide an exceptional customer experience while you navigate through the journey. While no two days are ever the same, you will be doing the following:

Provide exceptional customer service in a timely and accurate measure and responding to the needs of customers throughout all stages of the lending cycle

Reach expected settlement targets while ensuring you have a high customer feedback rating

Keep up to date with all administration needs eg. written documentation to be consistent with Mortgage Choice standards and industry compliance, and ensuring lender application forms and associated documentary evidence is accurately correlated

Follow responsible lending obligations and privacy obligations

Ensure upkeep of continuous development including but not limited to attending Lender accreditation sessions, maintaining industry CPD point score and ensuring accurate up to date knowledge of lenders products, policies and service levels

You\’ll use your excellent problem-solving skills and product knowledge to answer customer queries and maintain and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
