Job summary

The Salvation Army in Australia seeks a dedicated Moneycare Financial Counsellor to support individuals and families facing financial hardship. You’ll provide counselling, advocacy and practical assistance, helping clients regain financial stability with a person-centred approach.

Based in our Community Engagement team, you’ll empower clients to access services, implement tailored plans and assist with debt resolution while upholding professional standards and ethical practice.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Financial Counselling or Diploma in Financial Counselling with accreditation.
• Experience in community services, financial counselling or related social services.
• Strong advocacy, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial counselling, case management and advocacy services.
• Develop and implement tailored case plans with community members.
• Support clients to access services and community resources.
• Assist clients addressing debt, hardship and financial exclusion.
• Maintain accurate case notes and records using organisational systems.
