Job summary

The Salvation Army in Bunbury, WA is seeking a Permanent Part Time Moneycare Financial Counsellor (0.8 FTE). This new role provides holistic financial counselling, casework and advocacy to individuals and families, with on-site client appointments and outreach in the Southwest region.

You will develop tailored case plans, deliver financial literacy initiatives and advocate with creditors and agencies to improve clients’ financial outcomes. The position offers flexible days and hours.

Qualifications

• Diploma or near completion in Financial Counselling or related field.
• Eligibility for accreditation with a recognised financial counselling association.
• Experience supporting people in financial hardship and crisis.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic financial counselling, case management and advocacy services.
• Undertake assessments and develop tailored case plans.
• Support clients to identify practical solutions for financial wellbeing.
• Deliver financial capability and literacy initiatives in the community.
• Work site-based in Bunbury with in-person appointments and outreach.
