Job summary

Smart AVR is seeking a Mechanical Estimator to assess mechanical repairs on accident-damaged vehicles and to support the repair process from initial inspection through to completion. The role offers a mix of workshop-based and mobile assessments with a fully maintained company vehicle.

You will identify damage, prepare repair scopes, and liaise with insurers, repair facilities, and customers to ensure accurate and timely repairs.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical automotive experience, ideally within collision repair, dealership, or mechanical workshop environments.
• Experience preparing estimates or repair scopes preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Attention to detail and the ability to identify damage others may miss.
• A proactive and professional approach to customer service.
• Current drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess mechanical damage on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Prepare accurate repair estimates and supplementary quotes.
• Identify hidden or secondary mechanical damage.
• Liaise with insurers, repair facilities, and technical teams regarding repair requirements.
• Conduct vehicle inspections both within workshops and at external locations.
• Assist in determining repair methods and parts requirements.
• Ensure estimates meet industry standards and insurer requirements.
• Manage multiple assessments while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
