Job summary

Heritage Minerals invites applications for a Mining Supervisor at the Mount Morgan Gold Mine. You will lead daily mining operations, coordinate crews and contractors, and ensure the safe, compliant execution of the mine plan to meet production targets.

You will report to Mine Management and support continuous safety and performance improvements. You are a confident leader with strong communication skills and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated supervisory experience in open-cut metalliferous mining.
  • Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment and safe work practices.
  • Understanding of HSE systems and statutory mining obligations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily mining operations and coordinate crews and contractors.

  • Conduct pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.

Lead the Next Chapter of an Historic Gold Mine as it comes back to life!

Heritage Minerals is seeking an experienced and motivated Mining Supervisor to join our team at the iconic Mount Morgan Gold Mine. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in the restart of one of Australia's most historic mining operations, helping shape a strong safety culture while driving operational excellence.

Reporting to Mine Management, you will provide frontline leadership to mining crews, ensuring mining activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with production targets and statutory requirements.

About the Role

As the Mining Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading daily mining operations, coordinating work across crews and contractors, and ensuring safe, productive and compliant execution of the mine plan.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and promoting a strong safety-first culture across all mining activities.
  • Supervising loading, hauling and rehabilitation operations.
  • Executing daily mine plans and achieving production targets.
  • Conducting pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and risk assessments.
  • Monitoring equipment performance, ground conditions and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinating with Technical Services, Maintenance, Processing and HSE teams.
  • Managing shift handovers, work allocation and workforce performance.
  • Ensuring accurate production reporting and statutory compliance.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across safety and operational performance.
About You

You are a confident and respected leader who thrives in a fast-paced mining environment. You have a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate teams while delivering production outcomes.

To be successful, you will have:
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience within an open-cut metalliferous mining operation.
  • Strong knowledge of mining methods, equipment and safe work practices.
  • Sound understanding of HSE systems and statutory mining obligations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Current S1, S2 and S3 Supervisor Competencies.
Highly regarded:
  • Certificate IV in Surface Extraction Operations (or equivalent).
  • Senior First Aid qualification.
  • Experience with mine restart, rehabilitation or legacy mining operations.
