Job summary

TerraCom Limited seeks an experienced Mining Supervisor to lead a production crew at Blair Athol Coal Mine in Queensland. You will turn the mine plan into safe, coordinated daily execution on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, with strong emphasis on safety and performance.

You will coordinate with maintenance and technical teams, drive coal quality and adapt to changing conditions while mentoring a capable crew for sustainable production growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in mining operations with 3+ years in a supervisory role.

The Role: Lead the Shift. Set the Standard. Deliver Safe Production.

We are looking for an experienced Mining Supervisor to lead a production crew at Blair Athol Coal Mine. This is a genuine frontline leadership role with ownership of shift safety, people, equipment and production performance.

Working a 7 days on, 7 days off rotating day and night roster, you will turn the daily mine plan into safe, coordinated execution. You will set clear priorities, keep your crew focused, work closely with maintenance and technical teams, and make sound decisions as conditions change across the shift.

The Opportunity

As Mining Supervisor, you will be a key link between the mine plan and what happens in the field. You will coordinate people, equipment and priorities to deliver the shift safely and productively while protecting coal quality, equipment performance and operational discipline.

Success in this role means your crew understands the plan, hazards are controlled, equipment is deployed effectively, issues are addressed early and every shift is handed over clearly. You will have the authority and accountability to influence outcomes where they matter most.

What You’ll Own

Lead and supervise a production crew, setting clear expectations for safety, performance, teamwork and shift execution.

Plan and coordinate daily mining activities to deliver production targets safely, efficiently and in line with the mine plan.

Drive coal recovery and minimise dilution, maintaining focus on coal quality and disciplined mining practices.

Monitor equipment availability and performance, working closely with maintenance teams to manage priorities, delays and emerging issues.

Lead safety interactions, identify and control hazards, and reinforce a strong culture of personal accountability and safe decision making.

Ensure compliance with the site Safety and Health Management System, environmental requirements, statutory obligations and operating standards.

Coach, mentor and develop crew members, manage performance constructively and support training and capability development.

Support water management activities, including pumps, pipes and dewatering priorities required for safe and effective mining operations.

Use shift performance data and operational observations to identify opportunities for productivity gains, cost improvement and better ways of working.

Maintain clear shift records and handovers, and work collaboratively with Mining, Maintenance, Technical Services and CHPP teams to keep the operation aligned.

About You

You are an experienced open cut mining leader who is comfortable making decisions, setting standards and keeping people aligned in a dynamic operating environment. You are visible in the field, clear in your expectations and focused on creating a crew culture where safety and performance go together.

You will bring:

A minimum of 5 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or frontline leadership role.

Proven experience in open cut mining operations, with coal mining experience highly regarded.

Strong practical knowledge of mining methods, mobile equipment and day to day production execution.

A strong safety mindset and working knowledge of mining legislation, risk management and Safety and Health Management System requirements.

Confidence managing people, equipment and production priorities in a 24/7 operating environment.

A leadership style that builds trust, holds standards and brings out the best in the crew.

Strong problem solving skills and a practical continuous improvement mindset.

Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate, coach and influence outcomes across the shift.
