Job summary

Ora Banda Mining is seeking a Purchasing Officer on a fixed-term six-month contract. You will manage requisitions and orders, liaise with suppliers, expedite orders, and resolve AP queries while maintaining records in line with policies.

The role offers diverse exposure to mining operations and opportunities for process improvement. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with internal teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar commercial role.
• Experience in mining, resources, construction, or an operational environment.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using Pronto ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain order confirmations, monitor lead times and ensure delivery commitments are met.
• Proactively expedite outstanding and overdue orders, escalating potential operational impacts where required.
• Investigate and resolve Accounts Payable queries, invoice discrepancies and pricing/cost variances.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Provide procurement support and guidance to end users, including training on purchasing processes and ERP systems.
• Liaise with operational teams, Warehouse, Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve purchasing and supply issues.
• Assist with sourcing, obtaining competitive pricing and identifying cost-saving and continuous improvement opportunities.
