Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Mining Engineer for the Wilpinjong Mine near Mudgee, NSW. You will focus on short-term Load & Haul scheduling and design, ensuring safe, efficient execution of daily and weekly mine plans aligned with longer-term strategies.

The role reports to the Senior Mining Engineer and requires collaboration with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams. A degree in Mining Engineering and experience with mine planning software are essential, with Vulcan exposure highly regarded.

Qualifications

Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.
Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills are essential.
Experience with mine planning and design software (Vulcan exposure preferred).

Responsibilities

Promote site safety, environment, health and quality of mining activities.
Develop and maintain short-term Load & Haul schedules (daily to weekly).
Design and optimize haul roads, dump locations, and loading areas using mine planning software.
Collaborate with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams to align plans and execution.
Monitor and adjust schedules based on feedback, equipment availability and conditions.
Conduct regular pit inspections to ensure safety and design integrity.
Provide technical support to supervisors and operators on plan implementation and design intent.
Contribute to continuous improvement in mine planning and operational efficiency.
