Job summary

Pivot Management is seeking a Mining Engineer for a site-based role focused on short term mine planning within an Open Cut Truck & Shovel operation in Queensland.

You will own daily to monthly scheduling, translate the life-of-mine plan into practical targets, and coordinate with operations, technical services, and survey teams to keep plans realistic, safe, and responsive during ramp-up.

Qualifications

• Site experience in short term planning within a truck and shovel operation.
• Hands-on scheduling capability using Spry, Deswick, Vulcan, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of open cut coal mining operations and short-interval constraints.
• Ability to work with operations, technical services and survey teams on site.

As the business ramps up this unique truck and shovel operation, Pivot is engaged to find a Mining Engineer to join the site team, focused on short term mine planning.

About the Role

This is a site-based technical role central to the day-to-day and week-to-week execution of the mine plan. You will own short term scheduling for the truck and shovel operation, translating the life of mine plan into practical, achievable short-interval targets that align production, equipment, and grade control requirements. You will work closely with the operations and technical services team on site to ensure short term plans are realistic, safe, and responsive to changing pit conditions, and you'll play a key role supporting the site through its ramp-up phase.

About You

You bring solid site experience in short term mine planning within a truck and shovel environment, and you're comfortable working at the pace and detail short term planning demands — daily, weekly, and monthly schedules that hold up against the realities of the pit.
