Job summary

Peabody Energy in Australia seeks a Mining Engineer for the Wilpinjong Mine, focusing on short-term Load & Haul scheduling and design for an open-cut operation near Mudgee. You will report to the Senior Mining Engineer and align daily/weekly plans with longer-term strategies.

The role requires a Mining Engineering degree and experience with mine planning software; Vulcan exposure is advantageous. A safety-first approach is essential in this open-cut coal project.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with mine planning and design software.
• Exposure to Vulcan is advantageous for the role.

Responsibilities

• Promote site safety, environmental, health and quality.
• Develop short-term Load & Haul schedules to meet targets.
• Design haul roads, dumps and loading areas using planning software.
• Coordinate with operations, drill & blast and geology teams.
• Monitor schedules and adjust for feedback and equipment availability.
• Inspect pits to validate designs and safety compliance.
• Support supervisors and operators with plan implementation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in mine planning.
