Job summary

Barminco is seeking an experienced Communications Infrastructure Specialist to join our Mining Technology team based in Hazelmere. Reporting to the Manager Networks and Infrastructure, this role will provide technical leadership in the design, planning, delivery and support of communications infrastructure across Barminco's surface and underground mining operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in communications, telecommunications, network infrastructure or related industrial environments.
• Proven experience designing and deploying fibre optic communications infrastructure.
• Experience with structured cabling systems and communications facilities.
• Strong understanding of industrial communications technologies including Wi-Fi, LTE, mesh networking, radio systems and leaky feeder networks.
• IP networking, switching and routing fundamentals; ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop communications infrastructure for underground and surface mining operations.
• Create high and low level designs for fibre, cabling and wireless networks.
• Maintain standards, asset records and documentation.
• Support OT, automation and digital mining initiatives with fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Engage with site teams to understand connectivity requirements and plan expansions.
• Prepare scopes of work, specs and implementation plans.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship across the business.
