Job summary

Barminco is seeking a seasoned Communications Infrastructure Specialist to join the Mining Technology team in Hazelmere. You will lead design, planning, delivery, and support of fibre, cabling and wireless systems across surface and underground operations.

Reporting to the Manager Networks and Infrastructure, you will collaborate with operational, project and technology teams to deliver reliable connectivity for OT systems, automation and future tech initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in communications, telecommunications, network infrastructure or related industrial environments.
• Proven experience designing and deploying fibre optic communications infrastructure.
• Experience with structured cabling systems and communications facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop communications infrastructure solutions for underground and surface mining operations.
• Develop high and low-level designs for fibre optic networks, structured cabling systems and wireless communications infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain communications infrastructure standards, specifications, asset records, and documentation.
• Support OT, automation, fleet management and digital mining initiatives through fit-for-purpose communications solutions.
• Engage with site operational and project teams to understand current and future connectivity requirements.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical recommendations for infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
