Job summary

Barminco is seeking an experienced Communications Infrastructure Specialist to lead design, planning, delivery and support of communications infrastructure across surface and underground mining operations. Based in Hazelmere, you will provide technical leadership and work with OT, automation and digital mining teams.

Reporting to the Manager Networks and Infrastructure, you will develop reliable connectivity solutions and mentor staff while ensuring safety and compliance across Barminco’s mining

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in communications, telecommunications, network infrastructure or related industrial environments.
• Proven experience designing and deploying fibre optic communications infrastructure.
• Experience with structured cabling systems and communications facilities.
• Strong understanding of industrial communications technologies including Wi-Fi, LTE, mesh networking, radio systems and leaky feeder networks.
• Practical knowledge of IP networking, switching and routing fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop communications infrastructure solutions for underground and surface mining operations.
• Develop high and low-level designs for fibre optic networks, structured cabling systems and wireless communications infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain communications infrastructure standards, specifications, asset records, and documentation.
• Support OT, automation, fleet management and digital mining initiatives through fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Engage with site operational and project teams to understand connectivity requirements.
