Job summary

Barminco seeks an experienced Communications Technician to join the team on a full-time basis, FIFO from Perth. You will install, commission and maintain underground communications networks to support safe and efficient mining operations.

In this role you will deploy digital radio systems, fibre optics, leaky feeder networks, and Wi‑Fi mesh, ensuring reliable connectivity in harsh underground environments. Collaboration with operations and IT/OT teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Telecommunications.
• Experience in underground mining environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and maintain underground comms infrastructure.
• Support deployment and fault-finding of mining tech platforms.
• Assist tele-remote mining systems for stable comms.
• Install, test, and troubleshoot IoT devices and sensors.
• Collaborate with operations, electrical, and IT/OT teams on edge devices.
