Job summary

Glencore is seeking a hands-on Drill and Blast Operator for Collinsville Open Cut in North Queensland. This permanent full-time role operates on a 7/7 rotating day and night shift, with camp accommodation and meals provided.

You will follow engineered plans, manage drill metres and blasting quality, report strata conditions, operate heavy earthmoving equipment, and work safely to meet production targets in a dynamic mining environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating blast hole drill rigs in open-cut mining.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of risk management and safe work practices.
• Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Commitment to achieving production targets safely.

Responsibilities

• Follow engineered plans and accurately check the quality and depth of drill holes.
• Record and report strata conditions that may affect blasting and any maintenance faults or issues through providing neat and complete associated documentation for drill reports, pre-starts etc
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards regular and reliable drill metres, rig utilisation and consumables usage
• Provide safe and efficient operation of heavy earthmoving equipment
• Be comfortable performing the full range of mining tasks in a dynamic and changing environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
