Job summary

BHP Technology is seeking an Operational Technology Technician to support mine site OT systems across the Bowen basin in Queensland. This full-time role provides 24/7 coverage and hands-on preventative maintenance, with opportunities to advance into supervision and broader OT tasks.

You will work in a dynamic, safety-focused environment, collaborating with technology teams to improve reliability and performance of PLC/SCADA, digital radio, LTE, and CCTV systems while growing your technical

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Auto Electrical, Radio/LTE/Industrial Wireless Communications, Electronics or Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation is required.
• Familiarity with mining Operations Technology, Digital Radio, Fleet Management, Communication Networks (WTS/LTE) and PLC/SCADA systems; CCTV and access control are valuable.
• A proactive, safety-focused mindset with the ability to manage priorities in a high-pressure environment.
• Safety-focused track record in an operational setting and willingness to learn and improve.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day availability and maintenance of sites OT systems.
• Provide SME support to resolve priority issues for teams.
• Execute work orders per schedule and complete relevant work instructions.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and improvements for equipment reliability.
• Update Work Management and Master Data; complete shift handover to supervision.
