Job summary

BHP Technology seeks an Operational Technology Technician to maintain and support mine OT systems across the Bowen Basin, Queensland. This full-time role operates on a continuous roster delivering 24/7 coverage and offers opportunities to expand skills within a safety-focused, collaborative environment.

You'll work across Fleet Management, Digital Radio, PLC/SCADA, CCTV and network systems, providing SME input, completing work orders, and contributing to reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in Auto Electrical, Radio/LTE/Industrial Wireless Communications, Electronics or Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation.
• Experience with Operational Technology systems and field support.
• Willingness to learn in a safe, supportive environment and adapt to multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day availability and maintenance of sites OT systems.
• Provide SME support to resolve priority OT issues.
• Execute work orders per schedule and update work instructions.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis for equipment reliability.
• Review and update Work Management and Master Data as required.
• Complete shift work management processes and update supervision.
• Potential for step-up supervisor duties.

About the Role

BHP Technology is looking for an Operational Technology Technician to work at our Sites across the Bowen basin in Queensland. The role is responsible for undertaking preventative maintenance and providing technical field support for the mine sites Operational Technology Systems. The role is a Full Time position with BHP on continuous roster providing 24/7 coverage.

The role is an opportunity to expand your skills that you have as an Operational Technician (OT). OT covers a broad scope of work and no one will know it all but if you have the desire and enthusiasm to learn in a safe and supported environment we would like to hear from you.

Your responsibilities include:

• Ensuring day to day availability and maintenance of sites Operational Technology Systems
• Experience in the following Operational Technology Systems would be considered; Fleet Management Systems (Modular, Argus, Pegasus, and Terrain/SAT's, Autonomous/conventional systems), Digital Radio (DRS), Network and Servers, CCTV, Wireless Telemetry System (WTS), LTE networks, Multi media, Site control systems (PLC/SCADA) and site security access system.
• Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) to support teams to resolve priority issues.
• Execute work orders as per schedule and/or directed by the Technology supervisor and completing the relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
• Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
• Validate quality of work performed prior to completion.
• Review and request updates to Work Management and other Master Data as required.
• Complete work management processes during shift and update supervisor.
• Potential for step up supervisor duties.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have:

• Trade certificate in Auto Electrical, Radio/LTE/Industrial Wireless Communications, Electronics or Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation
• Familiarity with mining Operations Technology, Digital Radio, Fleet Management (Komatsu and CAT suite of products), Communication Networks (WTS/LTE and fixed networks), control systems (PLC/SCADA) and CCTV, Physical Access management systems
• High work ethic, with a thirst for learning.
• A proven track record of Safety within an operational environment
• An ability to prioritise effectively and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Proactive in identifying areas of improvement in the management of Technology systems.
• Takes ownership of improvement ideas/solutions and sees them through to maturity.
• Owns their work and can organise themselves to execute the work safety and in a timely manner.
• Build relationships with customers/partners/site departments
• Sound communication and interpersonal skills
• Australian C class driver's license
• Coal mine exposure would be advantageous
• Open/unrestricted Cabling Licence preferable
  Desirable experience:
• SAP Work Management
• Working at Heights, Confined Space and First Aid training
