Job summary

AGL Loy Yang Mine is seeking a Mine Mechanical Fitter to perform maintenance and fault analysis to support safe, reliable operation in a heavy industrial setting. Reporting to the Mechanical Support Leader, you’ll work across planned, breakdown, and routine maintenance in a shift environment.

This 12-month fixed-term role requires a Mechanical Fitting trade, strong fault-finding skills, CMMS experience, and a willingness to work with production teams while strictly following safety practices.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Fitting trade qualification or equivalent.
• Experience with open-cut mining equipment preferred.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to safe work practices and risk controls.
• Experience using CMMS.
• Ability to work with minimal direction and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence and ability to work shifts.
• Experience with dredgers, stackers and conveyors highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, breakdown, routine and preventative mechanical maintenance on mine plant and equipment.
• Analyse faults, assess plant problems and implement safe and effective solutions.
• Plan, schedule, complete and report maintenance activities in a dynamic production environment.
• Work closely with Production personnel to support safe, efficient plant operation.
• Accurately record completed work, plant faults and shift information in the CMMS and shift logs.
• Share your skills and experience, support the development of team members.
• Follow all Health, Safety and Environment requirements, identify hazards and apply appropriate controls.
