Job summary
AGL Energy's Loy Yang Mine in Victoria seeks a Mine Technical Officer to join the Maintenance & Outages team. You will work on mine electrical and control systems, providing specialist support and contributing to plant upgrades in a 9-day fortnight.
The role requires advanced electrical qualifications, PLC experience, fault-finding skills, and the ability to coordinate contractors and stakeholders across engineering, maintenance and operations.
Qualifications
- Advanced electrical engineering qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with electrical and control systems on heavy mining equipment or similar heavy industry.
- Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair capability.
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; valid driver license.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist support for mine electrical control, monitoring, and protection systems.
- Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to safely return plant to service.
- Plan and manage electrical project work for upgrades and modifications.
- Coordinate contractors and personnel during maintenance and plant modification activities.
- Support investigations into plant breakdowns and electrical incidents.
