Job summary
AGL Loy Yang Mine is seeking an experienced Mine Technical Officer to join the Maintenance & Outages team. The role delivers specialist technical support for mine electrical and control systems, collaborating with engineering, maintenance and operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
Working a 9-day fortnight and being part of an availability roster, you will contribute to plant upgrades, modifications and new projects, while providing 24-hour technical coverage to
Qualifications
- Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Electrical and instrumentation experience with heavy mining equipment desirable.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
- Proven communication skills and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist maintenance support for mine electrical control systems.
- Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions to safely return plant to service.
- Deliver continuous improvement across electrical and control systems.
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster.
- Plan and manage electrical project work for upgrades.
- Oversight of contractors and maintenance personnel.
- Support investigations into plant breakdowns and electrical incidents.
