Job summary

Stanmore Resources is seeking experienced Excavator Operators for the Poitrel coal mine in Queensland. You will safely operate excavators to strip overburden, load coal and waste, and work closely with truck and drill crews to maintain production flow.

Applicants must have proven excavator experience in open cut mining, current tickets, and a Coal Board Medical or the ability to obtain them. A current driver’s licence and the right to work in Australia are also required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavators in open cut mines with relevant tickets.
• Valid Standard 11 Coal Mining Induction or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Current Coal Board Medical or ability to obtain before starting.
• Current driver's licence and right to work in Australia.
• Commitment to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste.
• Perform pre-start checks and report defects promptly.
• Work to the mine plan and supervision instruction.
• Coordinate with truck, dozer, drill and blast crews to keep production flowing.
• Identify hazards and stop work when required.
• Maintain machine and work area.

Poitrel is an open cut metallurgical coal mine near Moranbah in Queensland's Bowen Basin. We are looking for experienced Excavator Operators to join our Production team.

You will:

• Safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste into haul trucks
• Complete pre-start checks and report defects promptly
• Work to the mine plan, dig and bench standards, and ground conditions as directed by supervisors and the dispatch system
• Work closely with truck operators, dozer operators, drill and blast crews and supervisors to keep production flowing safely
• Identify and report hazards, near misses and ground control concerns, and stop work when something is not right
• Take care of your machine and your work area

About you

• Proven experience operating excavators in an open cut mine with relevant tickets
• Standard 11 (Coal Mining Induction) and a current Coal Board Medical, or willingness to obtain them before starting
• Current driver's licence
• Right to work in Australia
• Commitment to safety and the ability to follow procedures and speak up
• Reliability and a good team attitude
