Job summary

Poitrel is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join the Production team at the Moranbah-area open cut coal mine. You will safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste into haul trucks, perform pre-start checks, and follow the mine plan and procedures to maintain safe, efficient production.

Ideal candidates will have proven excavator experience in open cut mining, a current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain), and the right to work in

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating excavators in open cut mining.
• Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical, or willingness to obtain before starting.
• Right to work in Australia.
• Commitment to safety and the ability to follow procedures and speak up.
• Reliability and a good team attitude.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators to strip overburden and load coal and waste into haul trucks.
• Complete pre-start checks and report defects promptly.
• Work to the mine plan, dig and bench standards, and ground conditions as directed by supervisors and the dispatch system.
• Collaborate with truck, dozer, drill and blast crews and supervisors to keep production flowing safely.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses and ground control concerns, and stop work when something is not right.
• Take care of your machine and your work area.
