Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking an experienced Emergency Response Coordinator to join Centurion Mine, located about 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

Reporting to the Manager, Health, Safety, Training & Compliance, you will coordinate all aspects of emergency response across underground and surface operations, maintaining capability, compliance and readiness. You will lead Mine Rescue, Fire Officer duties, coordinate training and equipment, monitor preparedness, and drive continuous improvement of

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Fire Officer qualification and current First Aid certification.
• Experience in Mine Rescue operations.
• Strong understanding of emergency response systems and statutory requirements within the Queensland coal mining industry.
• Experience coordinating training, equipment management and emergency preparedness activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Mine Rescue teams to ensure compliance with legislated manning levels and competency requirements.
• Fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the site's Fire Officer.
• Manage all First Aid, Mine Rescue and Firefighting equipment, ensuring inspections and compliance.
• Monitor, record and report on emergency response capability and site preparedness.
• Coordinate and deliver emergency response training programs across the operation.
• Provide specialist emergency response advice for both underground and surface mining activities.
• Support emergency exercises, simulations and incident response activities.
• Ensure compliance with all emergency response legislation, site standards and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement across emergency management systems and processes.
• Promote a strong safety culture through effective leadership and stakeholder engagement.
