Job summary

Aussteel Group NSW in Sydney seeks an experienced Welder/Fabricator to perform MIG welding and fabricate reinforcing steel cages and components. You will read and interpret fabrication drawings, plans and job specifications, and work to high quality standards.

You must hold a Certificate III or IV, have MIG welding experience, and be able to read drawings, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork in a busy workshop environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding and fabrication of reinforcing steel cages and components.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, plans, and job specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Measure, cut, position, and assemble steel components prior to welding.
• Ensure welds meet quality requirements and Australian Standards.
• Conduct visual inspections of completed welds and identify defects.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and handle materials safely.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Complete production records and follow quality procedures.
• Collaborate with fabrication team to meet production schedules.
