Job summary

Steel Builders in Glendenning, NSW is seeking a Fabricator to join our production team and help bring steel designs to life in a busy workshop. You will read fabrication drawings, cut and assemble steel components, perform MIG/MMA welds to order specifications, and collaborate with workshop and drafting teams to maintain production flow while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in steel fabrication or metalwork, structural preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and work orders.
• Competent in MIG welding and MMA (Stick) welding; certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and work orders.
• Cut and assemble steel components to specification.
• Perform welds to meet required specifications for each order.
• Work collaboratively with workshop and drafting teams to maintain production flow.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area.
• Assist with other tasks as required.

The Role

As a Fabricator at Steel Builders, you’ll be an integral part of our production team, helping to bring our steel designs to life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and work orders
• Cut and assemble steel components to specification
• Perform welds to meet the required specifications for each order
• Work collaboratively with workshop and drafting teams to maintain efficient production flow
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area
• Assist with other tasks as required

About You

• Experience in steel fabrication or metalwork (structural steel experience preferred)
• Confident in reading and interpreting drawings and fabrication details
• Competent in MIG (certifications or trade qualification highly regarded)
• Competent in MMA (Stick welding) (certifications advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to safe work practices
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Forklift/Combi lift experience (advantageous)
