We are currently seeking an experienced MIG Welder / Mild Steel Fabricator to join a busy workshop based in Smithfield.

This role is ideal for a reliable, hands-on tradesperson with strong mild steel fabrication skills, experience welding 6mm fillet welds, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate and weld mild steel components independently.
• Perform MIG welding, including 6mm fillet welds.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Measure, cut, handle and position mild steel materials.
• Ensure welds meet required quality and workmanship standards.
• Operate workshop tools and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

• Previous experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication.
• Confident performing 6mm fillet welds.
• Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Full PPE, including welding helmet, gloves and steel-cap boots.
• Own vehicle or reliable transport preferred.
