InfinitO2 Pty Ltd in Canberra seeks an experienced Microsoft 365 Server Engineer to manage and optimize our cloud and hybrid Microsoft infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure AD.

The role requires strong design, deployment, and management experience with on‑prem and cloud server environments; security and compliance expertise is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on admin experience with Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments.
• Deep knowledge of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams architecture, DNS/SMTP.
• Proficient in Azure AD / Entra ID, PowerShell for automation and hybrid identity.
• Strong security, compliance tools and Defender for Office 365 familiarity.

• Identity & Access: manage Azure AD/Entra ID, MFA, Conditional Access.

What our team is looking for.

We are seeking experienced M365 Server Engineers with a strong background in Federal Government, Utilities or large-scale enterprise secure environments.

We are looking for an experienced Microsoft 365 Server Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize ours and client’s cloud and hybrid Microsoft infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the high availability, security, and performance of our and our client’s Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure Active Directory. You will act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and drive modern workspace adoption. The ideal candidate will also have a strong history in the design, deployment and management of on prem and cloud physical and virtualised server infrastructure from industry leading vendors and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Administration & Support: Manage and support the core Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.

Identity & Access Management: Oversee Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, hybrid identity synchronization (Azure AD Connect / Entra Connect), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and Conditional Access policies.

Security & Compliance: Implement and monitor security baselines, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, retention labels, and eDiscovery requests.

Migration & Deployment: Lead projects related to cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant transitions, and the rollout of new M365 features.

Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve complex server, client, and routing issues; optimize system performance and license utilization.

Documentation: Maintain up-to-date system documentation, architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and disaster recovery plans.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience administering enterprise Microsoft 365 and hybrid environments.

Core Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams architecture, and DNS/SMTP configurations.

Identity & Cloud: Proficient in Azure AD / Entra ID, PowerShell scripting for automation, and hybrid server infrastructures.

Security Fundamentals: Strong working knowledge of security frameworks, compliance tools, and threat protection (Defender for Office 365).

Certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate, Enterprise Administrator Expert, or equivalent Azure/M365, VMware vSphere, ESXi or similar vendor certifications are highly regarded

Mandatory Requirements

As this role will work across federal government and industry client environments, an existing security clearance of Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher is mandatory for this role.
