Job summary

InterContinental Adelaide is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager – MICE to join our Sales team on a 12-month parental leave contract, commencing mid-November 2026. You will proactively source and convert new MICE business, build relationships with key clients, and collaborate with Revenue to maximise opportunities.

The role requires strong sales, negotiation and presentation skills, with experience handling international and regional clients and a deep knowledge of hospitality

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field.
• At least 2 years in a sales role within hospitality, preferably multi-unit.
• Strong knowledge of sales principles, client management and market trends.
• Experience with international/regional clients and brands/destinations.

Responsibilities

• Proactively source and convert new MICE business via cold outreach, networking, tradeshows and events.
• Develop and maintain relationships with PCOs, venue finders, associations, meeting planners and key clients.
• Develop and implement sales strategies that grow MICE revenue, room nights and hotel revenue.
• Identify new markets, opportunities and partnerships for a strong sales pipeline.
• Manage the sales process from lead generation to conversion and handover to Conferences & Events or Reservations.
• Collaborate with Revenue to optimise pricing, yield and mix strategies.
• Represent the hotel at industry events, familiarisations and trade shows.
• Monitor market activity and provide insights to support sales strategies.
