Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions in Shepparton, Victoria, is seeking a Merchandise Manager to own the merchandise strategy for the branch. • Agricultural industry knowledge and warehouse management experience (ideally).
• Strong pricing and margin management experience with ability to achieve sales targets through category development.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build long-term relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience with SAP and strong Excel reporting skills (ideally).
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales across rural merchandise, including chemicals, seed, animal health, fencing, horticulture and general merchandise.
• Manage end-to-end inventory: forecasting, procurement, ordering, sales processing, logistics, stock control, stocktakes.
• Collaborate with management, agronomists, procurement and the wider team to meet client needs.
• Partner with supplier reps to roll out marketing initiatives and deliver customer value.
• Analyse market trends and seasonal conditions to maintain Nutrien as the first choice for service and solutions.

What You’ll Do:

Be the go-to person for growers across one of Victoria’s most productive farming regions! As our Merchandise Manager in Shepparton, you’ll own the merchandise side of the branch, from your categories to the warehouse, with the freedom to spot opportunities and shape how we grow. If you love building genuine customer relationships and want to see the real impact of your work locally, this is a role you can make your own.

• Drive sales across our rural merchandise range, including agricultural chemicals, seed, animal health, animal management, fencing, horticulture and general merchandise
• Manage inventory from start to finish, including forecasting and planning, procurement and ordering, sales processing, logistics, stock control and stocktakes
• Work closely with management, agronomists, procurement and the wider team to meet the needs of our clients and customers
• Partner with supplier representatives to deliver value and solutions to customers and roll out marketing initiatives that grow the business
• Analyse market trends, climatic and seasonal conditions to keep Nutrien the first choice for service, advice and solutions

What You’ll Bring:

• Agricultural industry knowledge and warehouse management experience (ideally)
• A strong technical background with experience in pricing and margin management, and achieving sales targets through effective category development
• Strong interpersonal skills to build solid long-term relationships with customers and key internal stakeholders, and drive business outcomes and performance
• Exposure to SAP and strong Excel skills for reporting (ideally)
• A forklift licence, or a willingness to obtain one
