Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions is seeking a Merchandise Manager in Cooma, NSW. You will lead the merchandise function, optimize sales and inventory across ag chem, fertilisers and related products, and work with branch leaders to drive growth and exceptional service.

You will build strong customer relationships, manage pricing and stock levels, and coach a high‑performing team to support sustainable branch performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in merchandise sales and inventory management with margin control.
• Commercial acumen to drive branch growth and customer relationships.
• Budgeting, reporting and operational performance tracking.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Understanding of safety, compliance and store operations.
• Certificate in Agriculture or equivalent; exposure to SAP ERP and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead merchandise function for Cooma, manage sales and inventory.

We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused Merchandise Manager to join our team in Cooma, NSW. In this key leadership role, you will leverage your agricultural merchandise expertise to build strong customer relationships, drive sales and inventory performance, and lead a high‑performing team. Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will play an integral role in supporting business growth, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the ongoing success of the branch.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the merchandise function for the Cooma branch, managing sales and inventory across ag chem, fertiliser and a broad range of agricultural merchandise products
• Work closely with branch leadership, agronomists and sales teams to support retail operations, stock takes, on‑farm customer engagement and technical product support
• Manage stock control and inventory levels to support sales while maintaining stockturn, margin performance and accurate pricing
• Contribute to branch budgets and help manage the overall commercial performance of the branch, including reporting on performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Support the execution of local merchandising, marketing and promotional campaigns and ensure the store is presented in a safe, clean and professional way
• Build strong relationships with customers and identify opportunities to grow the branch through quality service, cross‑selling and new business development
• Coach and support team capability across merchandise knowledge, systems, processes and customer service standards

What You'll Bring:

• Experience in merchandise sales, inventory management, pricing and margin management, with the ability to drive category performance and achieve sales targets
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify new business opportunities, build customer relationships and support branch growth
• Confidence working across budgeting, reporting and operational performance, with the ability to identify issues and take action
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• A solid understanding of safe work practices and compliance requirements, including hazardous products and store operations
• Ideally, a Certificate in Agriculture or equivalent, exposure to SAP ERP, and strong Microsoft Excel or broader systems capability
• Forklift licence, Agsafe accreditation and a heavy rigid licence highly regarded but not essential
