Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to provide one-on-one psychosocial support to adults with mental health challenges in the Western Sydney area. The role focuses on recovery-oriented practice, independence building and community connection, with regular office and field-based duties.

You’ll work from our North Parramatta office and travel to the Hills LGA, engaging with consumers, families and clinicians to implement recovery plans and promote wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field is required.
• Experience working with people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented mental health practice.
• Experience developing individual support or recovery plans with consumers.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good documentation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised psychosocial support to consumers.
• Support people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Develop and work towards individual recovery goals with consumers.
• Support the development, monitoring and review of recovery plans.
• Build positive relationships with consumers, families, carers, clinicians and community organisations.
• Maintain clear documentation, including progress notes and reports.

Education
