Job summary

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker for CLS, Western Sydney. The role is permanent full-time, based in North Parramatta with outreach across Hills LGA, 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

You will provide one-on-one psychosocial support, assist in developing recovery goals, maintain documentation, and build relationships with consumers and clinicians. Salary packaging benefits and ongoing training are provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field.
• Experience with people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Understanding of recovery-oriented mental health practice.
• Experience developing individual support or recovery plans with consumers.
• Ability to provide person-centred and individualised psychosocial support.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good documentation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing individualised psychosocial support to consumers.
• Supporting people living with severe and persistent mental illness.
• Working with consumers to develop and work towards their individual recovery goals.
• Supporting the development, monitoring and review of individual recovery plans.
• Building positive relationships with consumers, families, carers, clinicians and community organisations.
• Supporting consumers to develop confidence, independence and everyday living skills.
• Maintaining clear and accurate documentation, including progress notes, assessments and reports.
