Job summary

The Canterbury Institute of Management (CIM) invites applications for a Student Support Officer at our Melbourne campus. You will be part of a supportive team, assisting students with academic and personal well-being and reporting to the Student Support Manager.

The role focuses on early intervention, recording student contacts, and coordinating referrals to external services as needed. Full-time position with entitlements and competitive remuneration.

Qualifications

• A post-secondary qualification.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to customer service.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion with culturally diverse customers.
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for students, staff, or visitors on campus.
• Attend to inquiries by phone or in person and relay messages.
• Monitor student welfare and identify students at risk.
• Provide personalized support and external referrals as needed.
• Assist with campus event management.
• Maintain records of student contacts and consultations.
• Support the Student Support Manager in duties related to student well-being.
• Work collegially in a team environment.
• Comply with Work, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity policies.
• Perform other duties as required by the Student Support Manager and Dean.
