Job summary

Honeylight Consulting is seeking a Systems & Support Engineer in Melbourne to provide advanced technical support, design and optimise complex systems, and deliver projects across on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments.

You will work with service desk, project and senior technical teams to diagnose incidents, implement changes, document outcomes and support customer environments across networks, security and end-user systems.

Qualifications

Experience in service desk, network support, systems administration or infrastructure support, preferably MSP.
Strong customer service, communication, incident ownership and stakeholder management.
Hands-on with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, Wi-Fi and troubleshooting.
Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, file services, permissions, Windows endpoints.
Experience with VMware and/or Hyper‑V, storage, backup, disaster recovery and monitoring technologies.
Experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure and Microsoft Entra ID, including MFA and conditional access.
Ability to analyse logs, identify root causes, and document outcomes.
Experience with incident, request, problem and change management and SLAs.
Willingness to travel to customer sites; driving licence.
Desirable: Palo Alto, Aruba, HPE, Datto, PRTG, Google Workspace, JAMF, Sophos, Ubiquiti; ITIL or Cisco CCNA.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of escalated incidents across network, infrastructure, cloud, security and end-user environments.
Diagnose and resolve complex LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/VPN/DNS/DHCP/routing issues.
Design scalable network architectures for performance and capacity.
Administer Windows Server, AD, GPO, file services, VMs, storage and backups.
Manage Microsoft 365, Azure and Entra ID services and security configurations.
Monitor systems and networks, perform preventative maintenance and health checks.
Analyse infrastructure to optimise performance, reliability and security.
Implement approved changes, migrations and upgrades with documentation.
