Job summary

Join Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals as a Medical Workforce Coordinator within Western Sydney Local Health District. You will coordinate day-to-day admin and workforce needs for medical staff, advising managers and assisting the JMO Manager to keep processes accurate and compliant.

You will oversee rosters, leave, timesheets and pay enquiries, and support recruitment, onboarding and termination for medical staff and locums, using NSW Health programs and policies to guide decisions.

Where you'll be working

Join Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals (BMDH), part of Western Sydney Local Health District, in a role that sits at the heart of medical workforce coordination. You will work closely with medical staff, managers and workforce teams across BMDH and may occasionally be required to visit other District sites across WSLHD.

Be part of a collaborative Medical Workforce Unit supporting doctors across BMDH.

Work closely with the JMO Manager, Medical Services Manager and other workforce leaders.

Build strong relationships with senior medical practitioners, JMOs, managers and key stakeholders.

Contribute to a responsive, professional and customer-focused workforce service.

Connect with Medical Workforce Coordinators and Managers across Western Sydney Local Health District.

What you'll be doing

As Medical Workforce Coordinator, you will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day administrative and workforce needs of medical staff. You will provide guidance to managers, support the JMO Manager and help ensure workforce processes are accurate, timely and compliant.

Coordinate medical workforce matters including rosters, leave, timesheets, pay enquiries and appointments.

Oversee the publication and distribution of JMO and hospital weekly rosters, including senior medical roster updates.

Support the recruitment, onboarding, orientation and termination processes for junior and senior medical staff and locums.

Provide advice to managers on medical workforce processes, awards, agreements, policies and relevant legislation.

Supervise and support Medical Workforce Unit staff as required, manage enquiries and ensure timely responses to workforce matters.

Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Workforce recruitment processes, with the ability to interpret relevant legislation, policy, Awards, and agreements.

Demonstrated ability to work independently in a high volume and demanding environment with a proven capacity to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines.

Ability to scrutinise information and make considered decisions based on the information available

Demonstrated high level negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, utilising a cooperative approach to enhance processes to establish credibility and trust and form strong relationships with key business partners.

Proven experience with generating and managing medical rosters.

Demonstrated experience in the use of NSW health programs such as Stafflink, RUM and Health Roster, proficiency in Microsoft office applications.

Demonstrated ability to initiate and successfully implement change management processes
