Job summary

Smith Street Medical Centre – Charlestown NSW is seeking a friendly, highly motivated receptionist to join our support team of administrators and clinical staff.

The role covers opening/closing the clinic, patient communication via phone, email and in person, appointment scheduling, invoicing and bulk billing, patient registration updates, confidentiality, and assisting clinicians as required. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in reception roles is valued but training will be provided.
• Working with Children Check is required or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Open and close clinic.
• Communicate with patients via phone, email and in person, courteously and efficiently.
• Schedule appointments for patients.
• Issue patient invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required.
• Enter and update patient registration details.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding patient care.
• Assist doctors and nurses as required.
• Correspondence management.
• General housekeeping of waiting room and facilities.

Previous experience in similar roles is highly regarded but not essential as training will be provided.

Previous experience with Best Practice is highly regarded but not essential.

Exercise confidentiality with regards to patient care and all aspects of the practice.

Assist doctors and nurses as requested and required.

Correspondence management.

General housekeeping such as tidying and cleaning of waiting room and other practice facilities when necessary.
