Job summary

WT Med – The Doctors on Erin Street is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist for a casual position approx. 15 to 20 hours per week in Toowoomba. You will greet patients, manage check-ins, bookings, payments, and general admin, while coordinating with clinicians and staff.

The successful candidate will have healthcare experience, familiarity with Best Practice and MS Office, and CPR current. Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
• Proficiency with Best Practice software, Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Medicare, DVA and WorkCover billing procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Current CPR certificate.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients with a professional and friendly manner.
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments accurately and efficiently.
• Register new patients and update demographic information.
• Process patient payments and issue receipts.
• Maintain a clean and organised reception area.
• Liaise with doctors, nursing staff, and external providers to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Perform general administrative duties such as emailing, faxing, scanning, and data entry.

We are currently seeking a motivated and friendly individual to join our busy team as a Medical Receptionist, working approximately 15 to 20 hours per week.

Must be available to work Monday's, Thursday's & Friday's.

About the Role

As our Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping create a warm, welcoming, and organised environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and check in patients with a professional and friendly manner
