Job summary

Randstad is seeking a reliable Medical Receptionist for an ASAP start at a busy clinic on the Gold Coast. This ongoing casual role is 4 days per week (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri) with clinic hours 7:30am–5:30pm, and may transition to permanent for the right candidate.

As a medical receptionist you will greet patients, manage arrivals and calls, schedule appointments, and support GPs and nursing staff. Experience in primary care and familiarity with practice software (Best Practice) are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in General Practice or clinical settings preferred.
• Ability to work 4 days per week (Mon Tue Thu Fri).
• Strong communication and empathy when dealing with patients.
• Proficiency with medical billing and practice management software.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and manage the daily clinic flow.
• Coordinate appointment scheduling and handle phone enquiries.

This is an ongoing casual role working 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday), requiring availability to work within practice hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm. This position has the opportunity to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

About the role

As a medical receptionist, you'll be one of the first points of contact for patients, playing a key role in delivering the welcoming and professional experience the practice is known for. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating patient arrivals and managing the daily clinic flow.
• Coordinating appointment scheduling and managing phone enquiries.
• Providing administrative support to the General Practitioners and nursing team.
• Processing Medicare, DVA, and private health fund billing with a high degree of accuracy.
• Maintaining electronic patient records (Experience with Best Practice software is highly regarded).

About You

We are seeking a professional who is comfortable navigating a fast-paced GP environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional patient care. To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Significant experience within a General Practice or a similar clinical setting.
• Availability to work 4 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday) within the practice hours of 7:30am to 5:30pm on an ongoing basis.
• A natural ability to connect with people and provide empathetic support, especially during stressful or sensitive times.
• Confidence in managing medical billing and using practice management software.
