Job summary

BMD is seeking a Mechanical Site Engineer to join our Construction business unit, supporting water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the Central Coast Region of NSW. This site-based role focuses on coordinating mechanical installation works, driving productivity on site, and delivering projects safely and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience delivering mechanical works within construction or infrastructure projects.
• Exposure to water and wastewater infrastructure is advantageous.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and technical specs.
• Excellent communication and planning skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee mechanical construction activities across water and wastewater projects.
• Manage the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical equipment and plant.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and relevant standards.
• Monitor site performance, productivity, and construction progress against program requirements.
• Assist with short-term planning, procurement activities, and subcontractor management.
• Work closely with Project Engineers, Supervisors, and client representatives to achieve project objectives.
• Identify and resolve technical and construction challenges to minimise project risk.
• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, environmental, and quality compliance across all activities.
• Accurately track project costs, quantities, and completed works.
