Job summary

MAYDAY Recruitment Group is seeking a Mechanical Service Technician to join the East Coast service team. This permanent full-time role offers a $15k vehicle allowance and extensive training across Europe, Asia, and the USA, with ongoing development and opportunities across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific region.

Base salary ranges from $95k to $115k plus super, with significant overtime potential. The position involves travel, 10–12 hour days on project work, and regular home-state

Qualifications

• Mechanical fitter qualification recognized in Australia or New Zealand.
• Strong fault-finding and preventive maintenance skills.
• Experience with high-speed automated machinery is required.

Job description

Company: A global OEM specialising in high-speed automated packaging and processing equipment for the FMCG industry is expanding its Australian service team.
Supporting major food and beverage manufacturers across Australia and the wider APAC region, the business designs, installs, commissions and services highly automated production and packaging lines.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Mechanical Service Technician to join their East Coast service team.

Permanent full-time position

$15k vehicle allowance

The Role:

This is a field-based mechanical service position supporting high-speed FMCG production and packaging equipment.
Travel is a major part of the position, supporting customers across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands. Some projects can require you to be away from home for up to three weeks at a time.
Where possible, work will be scheduled within your home state, however you need to be comfortable with regular domestic and international travel.

Requirements

• Australian or New Zealand Qualified Mechanical Fitter
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience
• Experience working with automated machinery
• Experience with mechanical breakdowns, servicing, installations and equipment overhauls
• FMCG, food, beverage pharmaceuticals or high-speed manufacturing experience
• Previous OEM field service experience advantageous
• Comfortable travelling and being away from home for up to 3 weeks
• Keen to undertake international technical training
