Job summary

Trojan Recruitment Group is seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for a casual six-week assignment with a view to permanency. The role supports defence and heavy industry projects, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

You must hold Australian Trade Qualifications in Fitting & Machining, be an Australian citizen with a current police clearance and White Card. The position requires reliability, transport to site in Adelaide, and readiness for pre-employment medical

Qualifications

• Australian Trade Qualifications in Fitting & Machining.
• Australian Citizenship is required.
• Police clearance within 3 months.
• Confined Space within 2 years.
• White Card and two work references.
• Extensive mechanical maintenance experience in defence, marine, mining or industrial sectors.
• Safety-focused approach at all times.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Reliable transport to site.
• Live in Adelaide.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace faulty parts.
• Use precision measuring tools to check parts.
• Work with hydraulics and pneumatics systems.

Job description

Trojan Recruitment Group is currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters.

The role will commence as a casual role for 6 weeks and then you will move to permanency with Trojan Recruitment Group and receive the added benefits; great hourly rate, sick leave, annual leave, long service leave and BIRST redundancy payments.

Duties will include:

• The identification of defective or worn mechanical components or equipment
• Repair/replacement of work/faulty components
• Precision measuring instruments to check parts for accuracy and fit
• Experience with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
• Maintain various systems onboard defence war vessels
• Lathes and Milling machines

The successful candidate must have:

• Must hold Australian Trade Qualifications- Fitting & Machining
• Must hold Australian Citizenship
• Must have a current Police Clearance (within 3 months)
• Must have current Confined Space (within 2 years)
• Must hold current White CardCurrent resume with 2 checkable work references
• Extensive mechanical maintenance experience within defence, marine, mining, or industrial maintenance sector.
