Job summary

SWB Plus Reliability Services is expanding and seeks a Mechanical Fitter to join the Cardiff team in a permanent full-time day shift. You will strip, assess, repair and rebuild pumps and rotating equipment, perform fault-finding and diagnostics, and carry out preventive maintenance on site.

The role requires a Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Fitter), experience in heavy industrial environments, and a strong safety focus. On-site parking and a competitive salary are provided.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III Engineering) qualification.
• Experience in heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or mining environments.
• Experience with Gearboxes, Pumps & Rotating equipment preferred.
• Order 43/45, Dogging, Rigging, Forklift or confined space tickets advantageous.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Strip, assess, repair and rebuild industrial pumps, gearboxes, brakes and rotating equipment.
• Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and root-cause analysis.
• Perform scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Complete inspections, measurements and quality assurance documentation.
• Read schematics and engineering drawings; operate manual lathes, mills and grinders.
• Support site services activities and maintain a safe, tidy workplace.

SWB Plus Reliability Services specialises in rotational engineering components, general engineering workshop and site services, technical design and failure analysis engineering.

As a leading supplier and service provider to the industrial, mining, food & beverage and resources industries in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands, the SWB Group proudly continues to be a wholly Australian owned family business.

As a result of growth, we are currently looking for multiple team members to join the Cardiff team. This is a permanent full-time day shift role.

About the role:

The role of Mechanical Fitter will involve the following but not limited to;

Strip, assess, repair and rebuild industrial pumps, gearboxes, industrial brakes and rotating equipment

Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics and root cause analysis

Scheduled, preventative and reactive maintenance

Complete inspections, measurements and quality assurance documentation

Read and interpret technical publications, schematics and engineering drawings

Operate manual lathes, milling machines and surface grinders for component repair and restoration

Support site services activities as required

Maintain a safe and organised work environment

What we are looking for;

Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III Engineering) qualification

Experience within heavy industrial, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or mining environments

Previous experience with Gearboxes, Pumps & Rotating equipment would be highly regarded

Current Order 43 / 45, Dogging, Rigging, Forklift or confined space tickets would be advantageous

Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship with a can-do attitude

Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance background

A strong safety focus and ability to work effectively within a team environment

General Information;

Competitive salary package based on skills and experience

Hours : 6.30am to 3.00pm, Monday to Thursday, and 6.30am to 1.00pm on Friday
