2XM in Smithfield, NSW, is seeking a Fitter Machinist / Mechanical Service Technician on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on servicing, repairing, and testing industrial equipment, with opportunities for site work and ongoing technical development.

The position offers a Friday early finish at 1:00pm, five weeks of leave, and an annual KPI-based bonus. Applicants should have a mechanical trade qualification and current licences, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent.
• Experience servicing/repairing rotating machinery or similar industrial equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to interpret manuals, drawings and specifications.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Forklift Licence is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble mechanical equipment for inspection, servicing and repair, plus machining rail components and parts.
• Diagnose faults and prepare inspection reports outlining repair requirements.
• Reassemble equipment per drawings and procedures.
• Test and commission repaired equipment to meet performance standards.
• Complete service documentation and testing records.
• Utilise hand and power tools while applying fitting principles.
• Attend customer sites to install, commission, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Provide technical support to customers during breakdowns and maintenance.
• Work safely per WHS policies and contribute to workshop standards.
• Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
