Job summary

Goss Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Fitter with hydraulics expertise to join our team on a full-time basis. The role spans workshop, site, and project work across multiple Hunter Valley sites.

You will install equipment, audit hydraulic systems for performance, identify defects, and lead larger jobs to ensure timely completion. Responsibilities include new equipment builds, pump testing, repairs, and mentoring apprentices.

Qualifications

• Cert III in Engineering, Mechanical Trade is required.
• Solid troubleshooting and defect rectification skills.
• Experience with hydraulics and fluid control is preferred.
• Ability to supervise colleagues on site and communicate with clients.

Job description

Goss Engineeringis seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Mechanical Fitterwith a background in Hydraulics to join our staff on a full-time basis. GOSS Engineering are expanding our workforce at multiple sites in the Hunter Valley; hence a full-time role is on offer.

Duties & responsibilities

Work is a blend of Workshop/Site and Project work

Equipmentand system installation, auditing systems for performance

Identification and rectification of defects

Act as a Team Leader for largerjobs to drive completion of works

New equipment builds within the workshop

Pump testing and repairs

Train and mentor apprentices and junior staff

• Cert IIIin Engineering, Mechanical Trade
• Ability to work unassisted and within strict timeframes
• Ability to adhere tozero drug and alcohol protocols and accept regular drug and alcohol testing.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Sound commitment to safety
• A willingness to undertake upto 12-hour days in the Upper Hunter.
• Australian Resident

Qualifications & attributes

• Cert IV Engineering, Fluid Power (Preferable but not essential)
• Experience with hydraulics and fluid control (Preferable but not essential)
• Experience with IBEX Installation (Preferable but not essential)
• Solid grasp of system troubleshooting, identification, and rectification
• Ability to supervisecolleagues or collaborate with a supervisor onsite
• Professional manner when communicating with clients
• A keen eye for details and pride in your work

• MLT 1 Cert – Machinery Lubrication Technician L1 Cert
• Lubrication/ Mechanical Experience
• Current Working at Heights Certificate (within 2 years)
• Current EWP High Risk Licence
• Current Confined Spaces and Gas testing (within 2 years)
• Lives in or around the Hunter Valley
