Job summary

Sync Lift Engineering in Gladstone region seeks experienced Mechanical Fitters for ongoing site and workshop work across mining, ports and energy sectors. You will undertake maintenance, installation, commissioning and fault-finding on fixed plant and rotating equipment, ensuring safety and quality in all tasks.

Ideal candidates have heavy industry experience, a recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification and valid high risk licences, with a strong commitment to working safely both

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance, installation and commissioning of fixed plant.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Troubleshoot faults and conduct alignments and precision fitting.
• Work on site and in workshop environments with safety and quality emphasis.

We have a strong pipeline of local work across both site-based projects and workshop activities, providing opportunities for skilled Mechanical Fitters looking for ongoing work while remaining local to the Gladstone region.

The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Mechanical Fitters to support a variety of maintenance, project and workshop activities across the Gladstone region.

Depending on your experience and the project requirements, work may include:

• Fixed plant maintenance and repairs
• Mechanical installation and commissioning activities
• Preventative and corrective maintenance
• Pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings and rotating equipment
• Equipment strip-downs, inspections, repairs and rebuilds
• Component change-outs and overhauls
• Fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting
• Alignment and precision fitting
• Site shutdown and project works
• Workshop-based mechanical repairs and maintenance
• Working within strict safety and quality requirements

What We're Looking For

• Australian-recognised Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
• Demonstrated experience working as a Mechanical Fitter within heavy industry
• Strong mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills
• Experience with fixed plant, rotating equipment and industrial machinery
• Working at Heights, Confined Space & Gas Test Atmospheres
• Current Driver's Licence
• High Risk Work Licences such as Forklift, EWP, Dogging and Rigging will be highly regarded
• Ability to pass site-specific medical and drug & alcohol requirements where required
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and workmanship
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
