Job summary

Perfs Fabrication and Welding Pty Ltd in Muswellbrook, NSW, is seeking an experienced Fitter to join our team. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of mechanical equipment across workshop and site environments.

Successful candidates will have a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter) and proven experience in heavy industry, with a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter) or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting, assembly and installation of equipment and machinery
• Preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
• Installation and alignment of mechanical components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Dismantling, inspecting and reassembling machinery and equipment
• Working with pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings and other mechanical equipment
• Completing maintenance and repair work to a high standard
• Following site safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
• Working effectively with other trades and site personnel

Perfs Fabrication & Welding Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Fitter to join our growing team, servicing a range of industrial and mining sites throughout the Hunter Valley.

We are looking for a reliable and skilled tradesperson who takes pride in their workmanship, has a strong work ethic, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

About the Role

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery across various workshop and site-based environments.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Mechanical fitting, assembly and installation of equipment and machinery
• Preventative and breakdown maintenance
• Fault finding, diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues

About You

We are seeking someone who has:

• Trade qualification as a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter) or equivalent
• Previous experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance or heavy industry
• Experience working within mining, industrial or workshop environments is highly desirable
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Reliable attitude and strong work ethic
