Job summary

Workhorse Staffing is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a permanent role in Unanderra. The position covers a mix of workshop and customer-site work, performing mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs from day one.

You will fault-find and service mechanical and hydraulic equipment, read drawings, and follow WHS requirements across both workshop and site environments. Hydraulics knowledge is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or equivalent (mandatory).
• Experience as Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner or similar.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability on industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical fitting, maintenance and repairs.
• Fault finding and breakdown repairs.
• Service and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
• Strip, inspect, repair and rebuild mechanical components.
• Complete workshop-based repairs and assembly.
• Attend customer sites for maintenance, repairs and installations.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

THE ROLE

• Mechanical fitting, maintenance and repairs
• Fault finding and breakdown repairs
• Service and repair mechanical and hydraulic equipment

• Follow all site and workshop WHS requirements

ABOUT YOU

• Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade, Fitter & Turner or equivalent trade qualification - mandatory
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Fitter & Turner or similar
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting ability
• Experience working on industrial machinery, plant or mechanical equipment
• Hydraulics 1 & 2 highly regarded
• Hydraulic maintenance and repair experience advantageous
• Comfortable working across both workshop and customer site environments
• Strong safety focus and reliable work ethic
