Sydney Earthworks is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician in Mt Vernon, NSW to provide specialist technical support for piling rigs, CFA conversion systems, hydraulic attachments and excavation support equipment. The role offers an annual remuneration of $80,000 to $100,000 plus superannuation.

Job Description

My Australia Direct Linesperson Location: Mt Vernon, NSW Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role Sydney Earthworks is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to provide specialist technical support for piling rigs, CFA conversion systems, hydraulic attachments and excavation support equipment used in their projects. The role is responsible for the testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration and optimisation of mechanical and hydraulic systems to ensure equipment reliability, safety and operational efficiency.

Annual remuneration of $80,000 to $100,000 (negotiable) plus superannuation on offer for this position. Key Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair piling rig systems, hydraulic components and associated equipment. Install, test, adjust and commission piling attachments and foundation engineering equipment.

Support the conversion of piling equipment between bored piling and CFA configurations. Assemble, monitor and adjust hydraulic propping and strut systems for excavation support works. Perform alignment, calibration, pressure testing and performance verification of hydraulic systems.

Interpret technical drawings, hydraulic schematics and specifications to ensure equipment compliance and performance. Assist with preventative maintenance, fault analysis and continuous improvement of plant reliability. Maintain technical records, inspection reports and maintenance documentation Liaise with project teams and operators to minimise equipment downtime and support site operations.

Skills and Experience Relevant tertiary qualifications OR equivalent work experience Extensive experience working with piling rigs, CFA systems, hydraulic attachments and excavation support equipment. Strong knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems used in piling, shoring and civil construction. Proven experience in equipment diagnostics, repair, testing and calibration.
