Mitchcon Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, testing, inspection and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems across its operations.

Based in Braeside, VIC, the role offers a salary between $79,500 and $85,000 plus superannuation, with opportunities to work with engineers and technicians on design, installation and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineering Technician.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, maintenance or engineering systems.
• Experience reading mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
• Experience inspecting, testing and troubleshooting equipment.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work to standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, modification and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Inspect, test, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
• Assist with installation, commissioning and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Conduct mechanical testing and inspections to identify faults and performance issues.
• Assist engineers with technical analysis, calculations and engineering documentation.
• Support preventative maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
• Ensure all mechanical work complies with relevant standards, specifications and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate technical, maintenance and inspection records.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and operational teams.

The Role

Mitchcon is seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the maintenance, testing, inspection and improvement of mechanical equipment and systems used across its operations.

The annual salary is set between $79,500 - $85,000 depending on experience plus superannuation. The role is based in Braeside, VIC.

The Requirements

• Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience working as a Mechanical Engineering Technician or in a similar engineering support role.
• At least 2 years of experience working with mechanical equipment, machinery, maintenance or engineering systems.
• At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, plans and technical specifications.
• At least 2 years of experience conducting mechanical inspections, testing, troubleshooting or maintenance activities.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using relevant engineering or CAD software.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
