Job summary

Janus Electric is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support design, analysis, and testing at our Central Coast facility in NSW, Australia. You will contribute to the development of next‑generation zero‑emission trucks and work across planning, design, and documentation with a focus on quality and safety.

The role involves design of mechanical components, prototype testing, DFMEA documentation, and ensuring ADR compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or final year).
3+ years' engineering experience in automotive/rail/heavy-transport.
Knowledge of mechanical design principles and materials.
Experience with CAD and FEA.
Strong reporting and documentation skills.
Excellent attention to detail and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical components and systems.
Support the preparation of technical reports, design documentation, and project proposals.
Conduct research and analysis to improve product performance and efficiency.
Assist with prototype development, testing, and validation of engineering solutions.
Participate in the review and interpretation of technical drawings, CAD models, Stress Analysis, and engineering specifications.
Design DFMEA documentation and reviews.
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
Support compliance with ADR and other regulatory requirements.
